How it works:
Hot sleep is caused when body heat at 98.6° gets trapped between a thick foam mattress and modern bedding with no way to escape. The Mattress Cooler Air is our simple solution to a simple problem. Cool and dry room temperature air (70°-75°) is circulated through the covers absorbing excess body heat and flushing hot humid air out. It’s just that simple. Place the nozzle wherever you prefer…your feet, back, face, arms…whatever feels good to you.
Better than a ceiling fan:
While ceiling fans are great for circulating air through a room, they simply can’t penetrate through your covers…at best you get a wisp of cool air across your cheek, and this simply is not enough to provide the cooling required. The quiet and powerful Mattress Cooler Air with 3 fan speeds on the other hand can deliver the perfect amount of cool air exactly where you need it.
Air Purifier Blower Fan:
The Mattress Cooler Air 2.0 upgrades from a simple one speed duct fan to an air purifier. Room air is filtered then accelerated through a flexible duct. This cleans the air in your room while you sleep and ensures you are breathing fresh clean air all night long.
Fresh Air for Side and Stomach Sleepers:
A common problem for side and stomach sleepers is that you will often trap and rebreathe pockets of exhaled air. This isn’t usually dangerous but it can have a big affect on body cooling and sleep cycles. Breathing cool air into the lungs, and exhaling warm humid air is an important way for the body to cool itself when wrapped in a blanket and laying on a thick foam mattress. The second issue is that the exhaled air has lowered oxygen content, and even more disturbing to sleep cycles… a high CO2 concentration. After just a few breaths of high CO2 air, the brain will send strong signals to wake up, roll over, and take a deep breath. You won’t fully wake up but the quality of your sleep will be affected. If this is a problem for you, just position the nozzle in the right spot to blow a gentle stream of fresh cool air across your face.
Energy Savings:
The concept is simple…leave your thermostat at 70°-75° at night and cool yourself directly with this simple cooler instead of cranking the AC down to 65°. You can easily save a few bucks of electricity per night and hundreds of dollars per year…though obviously it depends on lots of variables like your house size, system efficiency, climate, and local electricity rates, so your results will vary.
Refrigeration not needed:
We tested several mini spot air conditioners with compressor cooling and found them unnecessary…they add cost, complexity, noise, energy consumption and condensation issues…just a for a few extra degrees advantage. Most rooms are already in the low 70’s at night, and this 25° delta is more than enough to provide the cooling for nearly all hot sleepers.
